The Purple Wand Shelter Initiative is a non-political, non-profit humanitarian organization registered in Nigeria under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). We exist to protect, empower, and advocate for vulnerable individuals across the nation.
Born from a Recognition of Exclusion.
The Purple Wand Shelter Initiative was born from a recognition that many vulnerable individuals face multiple layers of exclusion. Children with disabilities are denied quality education. Survivors of violence struggle to find safety and support. Women facing poverty and abuse often lack pathways to independence.
We were established to challenge these realities and build systems that restore dignity, opportunity, and hope. Our organization was founded by Barrister Ufuoma Ese Omimi-Okoro, a legal practitioner, certified sign language educator, and child protection advocate whose vision is rooted in justice, inclusion, and lasting social change.
We operate at the intersection of education, law, technology, mental health, and community development to create innovative and sustainable solutions for some of society's most pressing challenges.
